RAILAY Bay KRABI THE 19 JAN 2015

From Ao Nang we  took a boat to Railay bay a place where you can snorkel, kayak, climb and walk.
First beach

Railay bay beach on  arrival from Ao Nang

 Hello from the monkeys
Railey East

Beach is full but we swam around and saw corals and fish and rocks just amazing ...

After climb 150m high we arrived to this view point.

We have to climb down to go to the lagoon, with jungle trees

The lagoon

A lagoon in the middle of the peninsula , 150 metres to climb up and another 100metres to climb down , only one access so have to climb up and down again, level 4c, 5a in free climbing

Commonly known as Spectacled monkeys and there real name Lemur monkeys

Some climbers in  the shade, columns , overhangs  and good holds many routes between 6a and 7c and soloing from a kayak.
Low tide East bay

low tide West bay

We swam around here and it is fantastic, definitely the best snorkeling around Krabi

Columns of limestone stretch out their tendrils  to touch the turquoise sea below.

There is a legend about these rocks, which goes a bit like this : one day a girl refused to get married and one boy snatched her away to force her to marry him, she refused and was saved by another young man from a local island. As everyone ended up fighting over her , a local wise man turned them all into stone , the islands off Ao Nang and Railay  are what is left of the bride, the groom and the guests.
